The Scholarship

A Scholarship fund was established several years ago through the generous anonymous donation of a shipmate. Since then, through fund raisers and the sale of the book, "The Mad Hooligan Story", we have been able to award yearly scholarships. Our funds are administered by a board of trustees. We are organized under the laws of the state of Maine as the non-profit organization, THE MAD HOOLIGAN INC. Any direct decendent (blood or adoptive) of an original crewman of the LST 832, which was in commission for the U.S.Navy from November 1944 to April 1946, is elegible. The applicant must be either admitted to an accredited institution or already enrolled and in good standing.
