Song to the MAD HOOLIGAN
by H.V. Dunigan, MoMM. 2nd CLass
| Meet the Mad Hooligan | For the men of the Air; |
| The Landing Ship, Tank | Believe It or Not |
| That crosses the ocean | Whatever his needs, |
| To land on the bank! | This lady has got, |
| That's the Mad Hooligan |
| She's Long, she's lanky, | |
| She's slow, she's cranky; | For the man of the sea, |
| She bangs, she beats, | On a ship that is, lost, |
| Every Ripple she meets | She'll come to his rescue |
| That's the Mad Hooligan! | Whatever the cost |
| That's the Mad Hooligan! |
| She's as versatile a lady | |
| As ever ther'll be; | For the man who is wounded |
| She won't lay at anchor, | And in need of a rest, |
| And she's stubborn at Sea, | She'll take him aboard, |
| That's the Mad Hooligan! | And treat him her best, |
| That's the Mad Hooligan! |
| Her cargo is varied | When the "big job" is over, |
| To meet the demands, | And the battle is won, |
| The goods she ferries | She'll bring the boys home, |
| Supplies all hands | Every last one |
| That's the Mad Hooligan! | That's the Mad Hooligan! |
| For the man on the land, | To shorten the story, |
| She has tanks, trucks and jeeps; | She's tops to the core, |
| Food, guns and ammo; | And the deeds she has done |
| We're playing for keeps, | Will remain evermore, |
| That's the Mad Hooligan | That's the Mad Hooligan |
